The installation method for an electric vehicle charger varies depending on the charger type and vehicle model, but generally the following steps can be followed:

 

Installation of a Fast Charging Cable

Unscrew the screws securing the charging port socket:First, locate the charging port socket and use appropriate tools to unscrew it.

Thread the cable and install the terminals:Thread the fast charging cable through the hole in the charging port socket. Once on the other side, remove the corresponding terminal according to the cable's position and install it. The installation steps for other cables are the same.

 

Installation of an Aiways Smart Charger

Prepare installation materials:Ensure you have prepared the necessary installation materials, such as the output cable, auxiliary connector, and small wires.

Install in sequence:Install these materials in the specified order according to the product manual.

 

Installation of an On-board Charger

Direct Plug-in Type:

Locate the cigarette lighter socket:Locate the cigarette lighter socket below the center console or near the dashboard.

Plug in the charger:Insert the charger plug all the way down along the spring rail until you hear a "click," indicating it is properly installed.

Test Charging: Once the indicator light illuminates, you can use the power cord to charge the device.

 

Screw-mounted:

Turn off vehicle power: Always turn off the vehicle power before installation.

Unplug the original cigarette lighter socket: Unplug the original cigarette lighter socket.

Insert and secure the charger: After inserting the new charger into the cigarette lighter socket, use a screwdriver to tighten the screws. Be careful not to overtighten to avoid damaging the socket.

Test Charging: Finally, test if the device charges normally.
